Hi, I'm Meg.
Heard is a coaching practice for ex-corporate women building B2B service businesses — and for the record, you're a lot closer than you think.

You used to be the woman people relied on. The one who could figure things out, lead the room, and make things happen.
Now you’re building something of your own — and somehow, in your own business, everything feels harder than it should. The messaging feels unclear. The offers are hard to explain. The pricing feels loaded. The networking is exhausting. And the sales conversations feel more personal than anything you dealt with inside a company.
"That’s not because you’re not capable. It’s because corporate success and business ownership are completely different games."
Corporate taught you to execute inside a system someone else built. It didn’t teach you how to position an offer from scratch, price your expertise confidently, or generate leads without a logo behind you.
The skills gap is real. And it has nothing to do with how smart you are.
My mission is to drive faster success for ex-corporate women building B2B service businesses — by giving them the commercial foundation they were never taught.
Clear positioning. Value-based pricing. Intentional lead generation. A sales process that feels grounded. Strategy built for a company of one.

I know what it takes to build from the ground up — because I’ve done it over and over.
I spent 30 years in sales, marketing, startups, and executive leadership. I worked inside early-stage, VC-backed companies where vague strategy wasn’t an option. We had to build with limited resources, sell the vision, generate revenue, and keep moving.
I know what it means to push through when the system is working against you. When my daughter was small, I was threatened not to “slack off” after having her. So I didn’t. Then when she was still a baby, I got diagnosed with breast cancer. I worked full-time through chemotherapy with a baby at home because I was afraid I’d lose my job if I slowed down. I finished treatment. They fired me anyway.
I am telling you this not for sympathy. I am telling you this because when I say I understand what women are asked to absorb in corporate — I mean it in the most specific way possible.
I founded Heard because I saw too many brilliant women leave corporate with extraordinary expertise — and hit a wall when they tried to build something of their own. They weren’t struggling because they weren’t good enough.
They were missing the playbook. That’s what Heard exists to provide.
Scaled a startup from $0 to $40M in revenue
Built go-to-market strategies with lean teams and bare-bones budgets
Pitched + secured $6M in venture funding.
Consulted with 75+ early-stage startups
Since founding Heard, helped 100+ ex-corporate women clarify their go-to-market strategy, build unshakeable confidence, and fully embrace their expertise.
Many women leave corporate carrying conditioning they don’t even realize they have. Be likable. Be humble. Don’t take up too much space. Prove yourself before you ask for more.
Those rules don’t build a business. They keep women overdelivering, undercharging, overthinking, and waiting to be chosen.
"Your business doesn’t just need better messaging. It needs you to stop operating like an employee inside something you own."
At Heard, we work on the strategy and the mindset together. Because one without the other only gets you so far.
You need clear positioning, a sharp market position, and a strategy that turns knowledge into revenue.
Relationships matter — but without clear positioning and a strong ask, networking becomes activity without momentum.
Selling is helping the right person understand the value of solving the right problem at the right time.
Your value is not the time you spend. It’s the outcome you create.
They need better strategy, sharper perspective, and support that helps them make decisions faster.
You can be direct, ambitious, strategic, and fully yourself at the same time.
My vision is simple: more women in charge of their work, their money, their voice, and their future.
Women need to take over the world.
Just kidding.
Mostly.

Especially ex-corporate women building consulting, fractional, or B2B service businesses.
You left a successful corporate career and are building a business of your own
You have deep expertise, but your business is not gaining traction fast enough
You are relying heavily on networking, but it is not producing enough qualified leads
You are tired of overthinking every decision alone
You want direct, strategic support from someone who understands both go-to-market strategy and the identity shift of leaving corporate
You want a business that creates revenue, confidence, autonomy, and momentum
Because business is personal, even when the strategy is serious.
After many years in New York, and a few in New England, I now live in North Carolina. I love books, travel, performing arts, and smart conversations with women who are done apologizing for wanting more.
I'm direct because I care. I'm strategic because guessing is expensive. I'm hands-on because I want women to get where they are going faster.
And I believe women deserve more than encouragement. They deserve businesses that work.
